DAY 3: BOOM!

Hey Yogis!

Yesterday I practiced in front of my fireplace and today at the studio in front of the altar.  I had to close out some of the students to wait for me to finish, which makes me feel a little badly, but my practice comes first!!! 🙂  let them wait and know that their teacher is doing her thang!!

How did you do your thang today?

At the end of November, my mother had knee surgery and I stopped practicing to be by her side at the hospital, then at the rehab hospital. I continued my daily meditation but I know I was missing more… I was missing Yoga! I returned to the practice just yesterday and boy did I feel the difference! I am so happy to be back!

I, Joan Varini, promise to choose my health and happiness first. I can only truly serve others as a yoga teacher if I serve myself as well. I promise to have fun with this process and look forward to practicing everyday. If I haven’t practiced my asana/ pranayama/ meditation/ whatever your choice of yoga is yet in the day, I will choose to practice whatever my form of yoga is instead of watching an extra video on my computer facebooking, sending out another email, watching another TV episode/ movie, going out to a bar/ restaurant/ cafe, taking a nap, or whatever else I do to procrastinate my own practice. I will have balance in this adventure. I will practice at least 30 minutes everyday. I promise this to myself.

And I will support anyone who is in this journey in any way I can! Thanks, Rina, for your leadership and encouragement.

OK, added something to my vow, so please approve this one instead… I almost started cleaning my apartment (even though it is clean) to procrastinate. I do that a lot hahaha… clean house, but dirty conscience.

great observation Donato, procrastination sneaks in in so many different ways…..
this is a tough pattern to break but we gotta be consistent…. 😉
