An Immersive Training of Yoga, Knowledge, Exploration, Community and Love with Master Teachers Rina Jakubowicz and Eric Paskel
at in Los Angeles, CA

Starts July 16, 2026
Eric Paskel and Rina Jakubowicz bring their renowned Yoga training to Los Angeles.
They have a refreshing, stand-alone, one-of-a-kind training that does the impossible: Maintain the original texts and teachings while bringing them into today without sacrificing a single drop of meaning. Paskel & Jakubowicz emphasize that “Yoga was meant to build a life, not just a body.”
Yoga makes a promise that we will find “our true self.” This can only be found by transforming one’s inner personality, which can’t be done physically; Therefore, this is not a spa retreat. This is not a trendy quick-fix wellness weekend. This is yoga as it was meant to be: A navigation system for your body, mind and intellect — rooted in the 5,000-year-old teachings of Vedanta, made practical and alive by two of the most respected teachers working today.
Both teacher training paths begin together on July 16th with the Life Training weekend. Same campfire. Same teachers. Your path determines how far you take it. The transformation will happen if you give it the time and dedication the training requires.
Eric and Rina coined a saying: “If you can’t do it on the mat, you can’t do it in life.” There are direct links to showing up, practicing the way you want to live on your mat, and carrying it right into your life.
You can do this training and NOT want to teach! In doing so you will discover your own form of inner transformation that frees you from the patterns of negative self-talk, addictive behaviors, co-dependence, depression, anxiety and fear — all that holds you back from your highest existence. You will revel in your own skin and practice, positively impacting your relationships, family, friends, work, and connection to yourself.
You WANT to teach! Then you will learn to lead a dynamic class that is fun, captivating and educational. Your classroom creates the inner transformation that frees people from unhealthy conditioning — so that lives change, not just bodies. Most importantly: you must grow in order to teach this way, and when you do — everyone and everything changes around you. “When you perceive the world differently what you perceive becomes different.”

YOUR TEACHERS
Bold. Honest. Deeply Human.
Eric Paskel | MASTER TEACHER · MA, CSC, CYT · AUTHOR · A BEAUTIFUL MESS
Eric doesn’t teach from a pedestal. He teaches from life — the messy, glorious, sometimes-falling-apart version of it. His classes are a physical challenge, a philosophy seminar in progress, a campfire vibe and a musical concert all at the same time. He will push your body, provoke your thinking, and make you laugh at the exact moment you least expect it.
Eric holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and held a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist. He founded and operated a family of nine yoga studios before selling the company in 2015. He has presented at Yoga Journal Conferences, Kripalu, Bhakti Fest, Wanderlust and more. He leads teacher trainings, workshops, seminars and retreats around the globe. He is the author of The Unf**ked Code and The Emotional Empowerment Movement. Eric is the only yoga teacher in the world to have been blessed to teach by Swami Parthasarathy.
Rina Jakubowicz | MASTER TEACHER · BEST-SELLING AUTHOR · RINA YOGA & SUPER YOGIS
Rina doesn’t make yoga feel spiritual by making it feel distant. She makes it feel spiritual by making it feel real.
She is precise and warm in the same breath — the kind of teacher who can break down a 3,000-year-old text from the Bhagavad Gita and have it land like something your best friend just said to you. Her work takes Vedanta off the shelf and puts it somewhere it actually belongs: in your teaching, your career, your today.
She has been teaching yoga in English and Spanish for over 25 years — on stages at Wanderlust, Kripalu, Yoga Journal Conferences, and festivals across the country, and in studios and retreats around the globe. Her book The Yoga Mind has over 24,000 copies in the world and is required reading in teacher trainings across the US. Three times on the cover of Yoga Journal. Featured on Headspace, Gaia TV, Fabletics, and Univision. An international following spanning six countries.
She has done the work. She knows how to teach it.
Our special guest teacher Heather Flynn has been a dedicated yoga practitioner and teacher since 2019, when she began as a student of Rina Jakubowicz and Eric Paskel with a strong foundation in Vinyasa, Ashtanga, and the philosophy of Vedanta. Her journey began as a personal endeavor to restore and strengthen her body after an extensive career in dance. However, she quickly discovered that yoga extends far beyond the physical, offering a deeply enriching practice that unites body, mind, and spirit. Her classes are a dynamic fusion of mindful movement, breathwork, and yoga philosophy, designed to inspire both personal growth and self-discovery. With an engaging teaching style, she skillfully integrates humor into her sessions, creating an inclusive and uplifting environment where students can challenge themselves while embracing joy. Her commitment to service extends beyond the studio—she is deeply involved in her community as a crisis counselor, providing vital support to those in need.
THE PROGRAMS
Two Paths. Both Year-Long.
Both programs are year-long commitments, even though personal growth is a lifelong journey. Many of you may not want to teach, and there is a path for you as well. They begin in-person in Los Angeles in July 2026 and continue online for the full year through a combination of live weekly check-ins, self-guided learning through an online platform, and structured assignments and teacher feedback through Google Classroom.
The year-long structure is intentional. Real integration takes time. The practicum portion ensures you have the time and support to practice what you are learning in a safe, structured environment — before you go off and spread your voice with the world.
Daily Schedule (In-Person Weekends)
Both in-person weekends run 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM daily.
Lodging & Travel
The in-person weekends take place in Los Angeles, CA. Accommodation and travel are not included in tuition and must be arranged and paid for separately. We are happy to offer guidance on the area when you register.

CURRICULUM
What You Will Learn
With over a half century of collective experience, Eric & Rina have carefully crafted a Teacher Training that will keep delivering throughout your life. The reason it does? The core of the training is about your unswerving efforts for your own self-discovery. You must grow if you want to teach people how to flow. Hence, this training is vastly different from other teacher trainings because you and your students receive a blueprint for change — which can only be executed by the individual.
FOUNDATIONS OF YOGA PHILOSOPHY & VEDANTA
Learn the higher values of the three paths of yoga (Jnana, Bhakti and Karma) within The Bhagavad Gita, the Yoga Sutras, the Upanishads — not as ancient outdated concepts, but as tools for navigating work, relationships, and the chaos of modern life today. Training is rooted in Vedanta and the lineage of Swami Parthasarathy.
THEME BUILDING
There are four themes in every class: Physical, emotional, intellectual and musical. When these are woven together, the magic happens. To learn these takes a great deal of dedication. If you want to teach a dynamic and meaningful class, these themes must be understood and eventually mastered.
TEACHING METHODOLOGY — THE ‘PUT IT ON’ TECHNIQUE
Master your observation and communication skills. You’ll learn how to read a room, adjust based on what you observe, and lead students through an intentional sequence for a genuine experience — not just a workout.
ASANA PRACTICE, ALIGNMENT & THE SIX AWARENESSES
A unique, thorough, and simplified approach to understanding all poses — foundational structure, proper mechanics, smart adjustments, modifications, and the principles behind the power of each pose. Learn how to make your students more aware of themselves on the mat through the Six Awarenesses, designed specifically by Rina & Eric.
ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY
An understanding of the body — joints, muscles, organs — so that you feel empowered in a classroom to adapt intelligently and adjust as needed.
PRANAYAMA & BREATHWORK
Learn how varied breathing techniques can adjust the focus and energy in the room, affecting the nervous system in different ways. A fundamental understanding of the breath will be developed — contrary to popular belief — including how to teach this type of breathing while assigning it proper value.
MINDFULNESS & DAILY PRACTICE
Study, asana, satsang and karma routine structure. You will learn how to standardize your life — prioritizing the higher version of yourself and knowing how to maintain that discipline or asking for help when you can’t. You’ll learn what is essential and what is not, ultimately giving yourself only to the essential. This translates back into your classroom in countless ways, but none more important than this: as you grow, so will your students.
YOGIC ETHICS & LIFESTYLE
The training develops your intellect — the muscle of logic and reason, the center for reflection, discerning and questioning. As this muscle becomes stronger, so does your understanding of the world at large, what is most important to you, and the ability to walk your talk. A deep trust and compassion is built within yourself to live a life dedicated to self-preservation and kindness to all creatures.
BUSINESS OF YOGA
Learn how you can make a living teaching yoga as Eric and Rina have for decades. You’ll learn how to build a sustainable career with your nature in mind. Plus, learn how marketing, branding, and building community are all part of being a successful yoga teacher.
COMMUNITY BUILDING
Building community is one of the most powerful aspects of being a yoga teacher. If you can create a room where people feel seen and inspired, they will want to come back over and over again. You will learn the art of inclusion, how to “hold space” with warmth while raising the bar for students hungry for more, and how to socialize with students before and after class.
PRACTICAL TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Many trainings certify teachers without ever stepping foot in a classroom. You will teach 12 classes during the training with real students. You will receive feedback from the students and from the teachers. Even though teaching is a lifelong journey, your certification will be earned — and that paves the way for your confidence in and out of the classroom.

WHAT STUDENTS SAY
Real Words. Real Students. Real Teachers.
“Many years have passed since I took this Teacher Training, and I said it then and I keep repeating it — it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Yoga gave me my voice. I went from being a shy, insecure person to a confident woman in all aspects of life.”
— Heidy Toledo, Teacher Training Graduate and Current Yoga Teacher
“Rina is an endless well of inspiration. A true seeker of the highest ideals, a pillar of mental strength — and yet still a child of the world, keeping the wonder and silly fun we all lose too early. Rina achieves this from the most important place: within herself.”
— Jordon Benson, Teacher Training Graduate and Current Yoga Teacher

FAQs
Questions We Actually Get Asked
Do I need to want to teach to do this training?
Not at all. Many of our graduates came in with no intention of standing in front of a class — and found the training to be one of the most significant experiences of their lives. The work here is about you first. Teaching others is one possible outcome, not the only one.
I’ve never done a teacher training before. Is the 200-hour right for me?
Yes. The 200-hour is designed for practitioners at all levels — you don’t need prior teaching credentials or even a desire to teach. If you practice yoga and feel the pull to go deeper, that’s enough to begin.
What is Vedanta and why does it matter?
Vedanta is one of the oldest living philosophical traditions in the world, and it is the backbone of everything Eric and Rina teach. It is not religion — it is a rigorous system of inquiry into the nature of the self. Their lineage traces directly to Swami Parthasarathy, regarded as one of the most important living exponents of Vedanta. In practical terms, this means the training gives you tools that work in relationships, in work, in parenting, in recovery — not just on a yoga mat.
How is this different from other teacher trainings?
Most trainings teach you sequences to memorize and cues to repeat. This one teaches you how to think. The philosophy, the themes, the methodology — all of it is designed to develop your intellect and your character, not just your credentials. Graduates don’t sound like us. They sound like themselves — only more so.
What does “year-long” actually mean? How much time does it take?
The in-person portion is two weekends in July 2026 (9 AM–5 PM daily). After that, the online program runs for the full year through weekly live Zoom check-ins, self-guided coursework on Kajabi, structured assignments, and your practicum teaching sessions. The weekly commitment varies by phase, but it is designed to be integrated into your real life — not require you to stop it.
I live outside Los Angeles. Can I still participate?
Yes. The in-person weekends require travel to Los Angeles, and accommodation must be arranged separately (not included in tuition). The rest of the program is fully online and accessible from anywhere in the world.
What is included in the tuition? What is not?
Tuition covers all training content, your online platform access, live Zoom sessions, Google Classroom access, teacher feedback throughout, and your Yoga Alliance certification fee. It does not cover your printed manual, required books, flights, accommodation, meals, or local travel.
What if the program doesn’t reach the minimum enrollment?
A minimum of 10 participants is required for the program to run. In the event that minimum is not met, your deposit and any payments made will be transferred in full to the next available training. No refunds will be issued, but you will not lose your investment.
What is Yoga Alliance and why does it matter?
Yoga Alliance is the largest nonprofit association representing the yoga community worldwide. An RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) credential from a Yoga Alliance Registered School (RYS) is the internationally recognized standard for professional yoga teachers. It is accepted by studios, gyms, and wellness facilities around the world. This program is fully registered at both the RYS-200 and RYS-300 levels.
Can I get certified in both 200 and 300 hours?
The 300-hour program requires an existing RYT-200. If you complete the 200-hour training here, you will be eligible to pursue the 300-hour in a future cohort.
What language is the training taught in?
All instruction is in English.
I have more questions. Who do I contact?
