Six Degrees of Connection: Um You Like Me One Ha! by Rina Jakubowicz

Today in class, we had a rather fascinating experience.

For no particular reason, I asked each student to say the first word they thought of.
Heidy said thoughtfully, “Um…” I interrupted her pause and validated, “Um” as her word of choice.  Then, I asked Liza and she said “You want us to…..” I also interrupted her and confirmed her word was “you.”  Sheila said “Like.” Brenda said “Me.” Wendy said “One” and Tom started laughing “Ha Ha Ha Ha!”
When we put it together we got, “Um You Like Me One Ha.” It may sound like jargon at first glance, but after a few moments of thought, it is actually a very wise phrase.

Let’s break it down together.

Um and Ha, which start and finish the phrase, put together, create A-U-M.  A-U-M is the phonetic spelling of OM – the universal vibration, the name of God or the divine.

The middle part of the phrase “You like me one” can be deeply interpreted as you are like me and we are one, which of course is the meaning of yoga.  In addition, it could also be expressing compassion, one of the most important lessons to learn for a happy and fulfilling life.

A more playful interpretation could be, you like me and that makes me number one, which can give you purpose in life and a feeling of acceptance! ☺  Who doesn’t like to feel a sense of purpose and acceptance in this life?  So regardless, I think either interpretation could work.

Six random people.  Six random words.  One powerful statement.

What interpretation can you come up with?
