This workshop will take a look into the power of the transitions inside Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. We will take a look at the different advanced transitions of the traditional Primary and Secondary Series of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga as well as take a look at some of the progressive transitions of the It's Yoga Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga System. This workshop will provide you with the techniques to build more strength in your yoga practice and maintain a continuous flow between handstands and other advanced inversions.

Karma Krew Simple Seva Project

RinaYoga will be participating in Karma Krew's July Simple Seva Project "Serving our Seniors: What I've learned from you." Seva means "service" and the project's purpose is to get yoga students acquainted with Karma Yoga (or selfless service). Throughout the month of July students will have the opportunity to write special seniors in their lives a letter, which will then be displayed at the RinaYoga studio.

Simple Seva is a concept that Karma Krew developed to allow yoga students to reap the benefits of karma yoga by doing service oriented actions that take very little time. Simple Seva Initiatives are a great way for students to get involved with karma yoga. These initiatives show students how they can incorporate small acts of service into their daily lives and take their yoga practice beyond asana.

WORKSHOP SERIES


INTRODUCTION TO YOGA
Learn the different styles of Yoga, basic techniques, proper alignment and all you need to know to feel confident and comfortable in your practice.

SUN SALUTATIONS
Learn all the basics and fundamentals of the techniques behind a Sun Salutation.

STANDING POSES
Focus on correct alignment and technique of the common standing poses taught in most yoga classes. Learning these fundamentals will help you prevent injuries and advance your practice.

BALANCING POSES
Creating arm and leg strength in Yoga is not hard. You just have to understand the techniques and proper alignment.
From the most basic to the more advanced poses, come experience how empowering these poses are.

FORWARD BENDS AND BACK BENDS
Discover the fundamentals behind bending backwards and forwards. Open your back, hips, hamstrings and quads, in order to deepen your flexibility of bending.

INVERSIONS
Learn the techniques and fundamentals behind your basic and more advanced inversions like headstand, shoulderstand, handstand and forearm balance. Get rid of that fear that may be holding you back from getting further in your practice. Once you learn the basics and you have the strength, there is nothing that can stop you. Rina will help you feel confident and strong in your inverted poses.

PARTNER YOGA
Learn new ways of experiencing poses with a partner to help you go deeper into poses. Being open to new postures allows your practice to grow on different levels.

VINYASA (Jump-throughs and Jump-backs)
Ah! The famous vinyasa. Find out how to do it, step by step. Once you learn the proper technique behind each movement individually then you can make it flow. And, the fact you can't do it now, is NOT because your arms are too short. :)

PRANAYAMA (Breathing) and Meditation*
Breath is essential for one's progression in practice. Breath can help your growth if you learn how to properly use it. Learn the basic breathing techniques like Ujjayi breath, and why you do them. If you can control your breath, you can control your mind. Meditation is a huge aspect in yoga. Learning the basics will help your concentration and focus.

SEATED POSES
Learn how to make the most out of your seated postures and how to correctly align your body.

HIP OPENERS
Discover the different ways to open your hips in order to optimize your range of motion and flexibility, and prevent injury.

SHOULDER OPENERS
Learn new and safe ways to open your shoulders. Open shoulders allow for a more flexible spine and chest maximizing range of motion.

YOGA WITH LIVE DRUMS
Enjoy the famous rhythms and sounds created by Papaloko while you practice yoga with Rina. Let the music inspire you.

All workshops are taught by Rina unless otherwise noted.
